Why Cultures Clash
Service Description
In an increasingly globalised world it's important to understand why cultures differ. This webinar, explores the underlying reasons why some cultures seem to clash and how we can better understand and navigate cultural differences. We will delve into three critical layers of cultural understanding: Cultural Artefacts: This layer covers the visible aspects of culture, such as language, dress, and customs. We will explore how these outward expressions can sometimes lead to misunderstandings when different cultures intersect. Social Norms: The second layer looks at the implicit rules that govern behaviour in different cultures. These norms influence how individuals perceive things such as respect, authority, and communication styles, often leading to friction when they are not aligned. Core Values & Beliefs: At the heart of a culture, core values determine what is considered important or meaningful within a culture. Understanding them is key to bridging cultural divides. It's also key to understanding the limits of when cultures are able to coexist and when they cannot. Join us for this insightful webinar where we will provide practical strategies for recognising these cultural layers to foster a more harmonious globalised world.
